Biology – Shri R.K.Parikh Arts & Science College

The department of Biology was established in the year 1946 as a part of Shri R. K. Parikh Arts and Science College, Petlad.
The core subject Biology is offered for the students of B. Sc. in the semester I and II, and the subject Botany as second core subject in semester III and IV.
Well-equipped biology laboratory with capacity of 30 students to perform various practical.
The students learn through the charts, model, fresh, and preserved specimens during the practical hands-on training.
Biology theory classroom is well equipped with the multimedia projector for interactive learning.
Small museum showcased the preserved specimens of animals and plants.
Department also offers add on certificate course on “Basic Microscopy techniques for biological studies”.
The department is engaged in the Environmental education and awareness related activities under the Nature club which is affiliated with the National Green Corps (NGC), GEER foundation, Government of Gujarat.
Important Reference Books, subject oriented CD/ DVD’s, scientific Journals, and Magazine relevant to the subject are available in central library for the benefits of the learners.
